About Ryan Mead

Hi, I’m Ryan Mead, the Assistant Director of Academic Support Services and Programming for Binghamton University’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). In this role, I oversee EOP’s Academic Success Network, a collaborative system that includes one-on-one course tutoring, academic coaching, workshops, a textbook library, and other essential resources. These services are designed to empower underrepresented students and foster the skills they need to succeed academically and beyond. A key component of my work is leading the Binghamton Enrichment Program (BEP), a summer bridge initiative for incoming EOP students. I work closely with academic departments, recruiting and training instructors to deliver credit-bearing courses that ease students’ transition into college life. Through BEP, we create a supportive, community-focused environment that lays the foundation for student success. Collaboration is also central to initiatives like the MATH 108 Checkpoint Challenge, which brings together faculty and graduate assistants to design practice exams and review sessions that mirror actual tests. This program not only helps students strengthen their understanding of course material but also equips them to manage test anxiety and improve overall performance. I am also exploring how innovations like artificial intelligence can further personalize learning and enhance student engagement. As a first-generation college graduate, I can personally attest to the transformative power of higher education. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to overcome barriers and achieve their goals. Together with my team and campus partners, I strive to create inclusive environments that empower students to thrive and build a brighter future.
