About Ryan Messett

I started working with Q Basic in elementary school, and never stopped coding. Since starting my career, I've taken a special interest in abuse fighting in general. My special interest is considering how criminals conduct abuse, and how vulnerabilities can be exploited and defended against. I've worked on criminal and civil cases, I've engineered solutions that deliver results in risk, fraud, and abuse spaces. I love ontologies, and think that everything in life can be seen as a graph. My preferred languages are SQL and Python, but I can code in most languages to some degree. I have a deep grasp of computer science principles, and a firm grasp of stakeholder management, which allows me to effectively create impact in different environments. I'm currently fighting abuse for Google! I'm not currently looking for work. Built a fully functioning data analytics capability for the Office of Inspector General for AmeriCorps to assess risk on grant portfolios in my first career role. I built risk models, performed analytics, and created best practices, enabling success for the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee and the entire OIG community. Interested in fraud detection, outlier detection, application of machine learning/AI on predictive risk analysis, and the intersection of investigative, hypothesis-based thinking & application of technology.
