About Ryan Mitchell

I’m the founder of Do Good Things. A venture product and marketing company. I’ve always leaned in to an unorthodox way of doing things. School wasn’t for me. I took a 3 year hiatus from 13-16. Uni wasn’t either… I dropped out after 4 months. These experiences made me realise that I learn by doing. I grew up in a conventional family that had a big focus on the "way things were." Conserve what you have because things are scarce. Scarcity is not the fuel for growth. At age 16, I earned pocket money by setting up computers for small businesses. That was the start of my entrepreneurial journey. Once I finished school, I knew I wasn't built for corporate life or working for someone else. So I started my pursuit of innovating and creating. Fast forward to age 29, I have- Bootstrapped two marketing agencies - Sold one in 2020 - Sat in product growth advisory roles for awesome startups - Travelled the world - Settled in the best place in the world, Queenstown All without a formal university education. I write about the strategies I use to start and scale the companies I am involved with, and my experiences in life that relate to entrepreneurship.
