About Ryan Morrison

I started my career as an Intranet producer for a sub division of BT and have been working in relatively similar sectors since. I left BT to briefly work in Sales for Tiny Computers but then moved to Jersey where I started working for the technology arm of the Jersey Evening Post. I then joined Itex where I designed websites for a number of government departments, private companies and charities. I then left Itex to work for the BBC as a Broadcast Journalist running the new bbc.co.uk/jersey website. I worked there for sixteen years. During that time I covered a number of events in a number of different ways including the extensive use of social media. I wrote national and local stories for BBC News Online - everything from elections and court stories to technology and daily news. I'm also trained as a video journalist, regularly edited audio and presented a radio show about the islands music scene for ten years. I spent four months working as a media officer for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy where I worked on daily journalists queries, media monitoring and analysis. I spent two years at the Mail Online as Senior Science and Technology Reporter including six months editing the US science and technology desk. I am currently working for TechMonitor where I report on emerging technology - particularly AI, quantum and space.
