About Ryan Nowell

As an experienced Administrator with the Thames Valley District School Board, I have developed leadership skills which enable me to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders including a variety of union partners, parents, students, and senior administration. Building positive and productive relationships is fundamental in my role. I work hard to create meaningful connections with students, staff, community partners and the education community in the pursuit of providing the best possible experience for all. In my current role as Principal at Wilfrid Jury Public School, I am dedicated to ensuring equitable and inclusive opportunities for all students. I believe that all students can learn and that by providing relevant, engaging and demanding programming, our students will flourish and be successful. Establishing the essential conditions for learning is something that I work on daily. Creating school conditions that are built on relationships, connection, safety, and regulation allow students the opportunity to achieve their full potential in terms of learning and achievement. These conditions also keep our school safe and allow our staff to provide the highest quality education possible. I take a great deal of pride in my ability to provide our staff with high-end professional learning opportunities. In doing so, I ensure that training is relevant, engaging and collaborative in nature. I also have experience leading system professional learning opportunities for educators across our school board. Helping staff to pursue their own leadership potential is an area that is of high interest to me.
