About Ryan Oleary

I'm an American that moved to Sweden, with my Swedish wife, in 2008. I have a background in marketing, web, communications, project management, and strategic consulting. During the dot-com bubble in the late 90's I helped launch the award-winning digital agency Digitaria as Director of Client Services & Strategy. My first job out of college was in the marketing department at the Institute of Reading Development, and in 2003, I returned as the Director of Marketing, where I have worked in a variety of roles since. While in Sweden, I have had various roles with local startups Constant and Campanja building an awesome culture and strategies for the quickly growing digital marketing agencies. I also have a passion for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and founded Nordic's largest MMA website (mmaviking.com) to educate the world about the local scene. I have been credentialed by the UFC, and my website has over 5 million page views. I have been featured in interviews by Sweden's TV4 Sport and Norway's NRK Sport. I'm a big fan of WordPress and founded the Meetup group WordPress Stockholm in 2017. My oldest son became obsessed with basketball once he discovered the game at the age of 9. The kid just loves the game and started playing every second, everywhere. In 2019, I became co-owner of Courts of the World which has the largest database of outdoor basketball courts in the world, to help him (and the world) find local hoops near home and while traveling. In 2021, we partnered with FIBA, and today have grown our basketball map to over courts!
