About Ryan Orourke

For the past sixteen years I have held various positions in the Civil Engineering sector progressing from Trainee Engineer to my current Project Manager role. During my training and post-qualification period in the UK I was assigned to a diverse range of Projects including Bridge Construction, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Motorway Construction and the regeneration and reclamation of Brownfield sites for commercial and domestic purposes. I have since relocated to Australia where I worked in the Oil & Gas sector on the Gorgon Project, a multi-billion dollar (AUD) Project in WA and now within the Perth metropole area. I continue to pursue opportunities to be part of exciting and innovative engineering Projects. A challenging part of my current role is the rigorous contract and extensive planning of construction and monitoring of conformance is therefore requisite to my role, whilst ensuring the Project is compliant with the cost and time constraints of the client – which has been successful to date. I ensure minimal interface disruptions are incurred through assertive management of my team, co-ordination of sub-contractors in my Area and effective planning and monitoring of activities. My work experience to date has been all-encompassing which has exerted me both personally and professionally. Not only have I gained an extensive supplement of skills and knowledge working with ground-breaking strategies and technologies on various Projects, but I have also become a strong leader with a proven record of delivering tight deadlines to high specifications and in a high-intensity environment.
