About Ryan Otoole

I graduated in May with a B.S. in Engineering with a Mechanics concentration from McNeese State University. During that time at McNeese I have learned a lot about engineering. My favorite being the skill of using simulation software to assist in the study and explanation of ideas. I have some experience with different simulation software. In my senior design project at McNeese, I was part of a group that designed and ran simulations on different micro-fin designs to be utilized in both heat exchangers and turbine blades. As part of this group, my principle responsibility was to take our designs and build them in our meshing software (Trelis). I also assisted in the set up and running of the fluid flow simulations in ANSYS Fluent. We ran several simulations to assist Kansas State University’s Institute for Environmental Research during this time as well. I am self taught in SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor. I have uploaded various projects and designs onto GRABCAD. I will continue to add new projects as they are created. These vehicles include my truck, car, and ATV. I have experience with small engine mechanics, welding, and electrical. I have also assembled a custom AR-15 rifle and started loading my own ammunition. My father and I have always liked to “tinker,” so as I grew up I have acquired various skills in a wide variety of fields. Our most recent project was installing a solar powered light system for our shop.
