I am one of Florida's 477 Board Certified Construction Lawyers and work with 9 others at Adams and Reese LLP. My construction law practice focuses on contract drafting and negotiation, contract disputes, payment issues, and defect litigation. I represent a number of general contractors and speciality contractors, along with a few select owners/developers. I also have a niche in creditor’s rights, including complex commercial loan workouts and large dollar collections for banks and other creditors. I am experienced in obtaining extraordinary relief thrgouh prejudgment writs of garnishment, writs of attachment, and injunctions against transfers. I also handle general commercial and real estate litigation, including matters involving contract disputes, mortgage foreclosure, landlord/tenant, disputes between business partners, FDUTPA claims, employment agreement/non-compete disputes, and HOA/condominium association disputes. My experience includes: • Advising and assisting in the negotiations for a prime contract with a GMP in excess of for the construction of a condominium tower, as well as assisting with subcontractor buyout and surety bonds for the Project. • Bench trial on behalf of Contractor against Subcontractor who defaulted on hotel renovation Project and was terminated, resulting in Contractor recovering full amount of claim against Subcontractor and Subcontractor recovering nothing on its counterclaim. • Advising and assisting in the negotiations for in excess of of subcontract work on behalf of plumbers, electricians, demolition contractors, metal building contractors, mechanical contractors, and other trades. • Obtained summary judgment in favor of an apartment-to-condominium converter on the basis of the statute of limitations and lack of parent company liability for its subsidiary's actions. • Obtained an ex parte temporary injunction prohibiting judgment debtors from removing assets from the State of Florida pending domestication of a $55 million foreign judgment. • Received a temporary injunction prohibiting a judgment debtor from dissipating nearly $2 million in cash proceeds held in an overseas account pending the outcome of a post-judgment fraudulent transfer action. I am admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, as well as the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts in the Middle District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
