About Ryan Parke

2019 the most successful man I knew took his own life. ​ He left behind a devastated family, two children and a distraught mother. I knew that if it could happen to him, it could definitely happen to me. And so I dedicated time to learning the science of men's mental health, physical health and life expectancy. ​ The current approach to men's mental health is not working. Men want the opportunity to make a contribution and work towards common goals. Traditional talking therapy alone cannot provide this. It’s often said that men are not interested in mental health. I believe men are, but mental health advice is not interested in the nuances of being a man. ​ ​There are five dimensions to men’s mental health. I studied them to create a framework men can use to address when these dimensions are unbalanced. I set out to solely help men who feel depressed. But my framework doesn't just help depressed men. It makes goal setting, staying happy, staying healthy and understanding others much easier too. ​ I’ve now coached men from a diverse range of backgrounds, developed strategies and tactics that work, and even had the privilege to share my framework on the TEDx stage. ​ With the right knowledge on how a man's body and mind work, the problems that men face in life are not a mystery. There are practical and simple steps that men can take to live with more balance. I deliver workshops, talks and coaching projects to share how.
