About Ryan Peters

I am a self-taught expert leader/troubleshooter/debugger/ with the ability to keep teams productive in an agile environment. I work as an IT Support Analyst at Syracuse University, developing a strong support base for our student body from the ITS Service Center. With the resources provided by ITS, I've been able to develop our a diverse set of support methodologies and tools that allow our community to succeed past their expectations. I've played a key role in developing out the process for training and hiring the student employees that work in the Service Center and am currently managing 30 student employees at any given point. Some approaches I take to developing out these employees are in the form of web-based assessments with semester refreshers, as well as including lead student employees in the development and maintenance of these web-based assessments. I also schedule out 1-on-1's with each student employee to check with them on their goals and their objectives when it pertains to working in the Service Center, as well as their goals for when they graduate from Syracuse University, making sure I can do whatever I can to help them succeed and grow on the path they want to. While also working at Syracuse University, I currently serve on the Board of Directors for ResNet Inc.(resnetinc.org) helping push the boundaries for information technology development & support from a campus communities perspective, introducing new ideas and methodologies to help develop out IT Service Centers at Universities and Colleges around the world.
