About Ryan Pierson

I am a May 2025 graduate of NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing where I am majored in Nursing and Global Public Health with Honors. I am also a current nursing attendant at NYU Langone Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion. I have completed clinical experiences at NYU Langone Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, and NYU Langone Brooklyn on diverse floors including labor and delivery, medical surgical, pediatrics, and behavioral health. My work experience includes three summers of work as a medical assistant in an outpatient pediatrics setting, an externship on an inpatient behavioral health unit, and one year of work as a per diem float nursing attendant. My clinical experiences both through work and school have taught me numerous skills including therapeutic communication, direct patient care, application of the nursing process, safe medication administration, and use of Electronic Medical Records including Epic. Additionally, my experiences as a nursing student have allowed me to further develop my leadership skills and my passion for maternal health and health equity. For the last three semesters, I served as the Events Coordinator for Student Nurses for Advocacy and Policy (SNAP), organizing and facilitating events to educate students on important issues affecting the patient populations we serve. I have also acted as a Nursing Cohort Leader, mentoring younger students within the nursing program. Further, I completed a capstone project that focused on addressing informational needs of patients seeking care for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMAD), in collaboration with the clinical team at Brooklyn Parent Support. As I prepare for my NCLEX exam, I am actively seeking RN roles on units including labor and delivery, antepartum, and mother-baby/postpartum. I am excited to continue providing compassionate care to patients and work to improve outcomes for birthing people and infants.
