Seasoned Civil Engineer with hard earned construction experience building numerous wetland and habitat restoration sites, ranging from 150 to over acres. These projects include the Mohave Valley Conservation Area, Lower Duchesne River Restoration Area, Provo River Delta Restoration Project, Planet Ranch Conservation Area, and the Dennis Underwood Conservation Area. Environmental mitigation work presents a unique set of construction challenges in dealing with permitting, wetlands, construction dewatering, and mass excavation in saturated material. In my role as supervisor of Reclamation's Construction Services Group, I evaluate and participate in project concepts, budget reviews, solicit and generate construction estimates, ensure the specifications specifications and purchase requests for all materials and equipment, write and dewatering permits, act as COR for all contracts, establish construction plans, and then manage the administrative/engineering side of the projects as they are constructed. This includes material delivery, material testing management, construction reports, and endless project management calls. We also build concrete spillways, screened fish barriers, irrigation headwork structures, engineered log jams, boat ramps, water control structures, and install miles of solid wall HDPE pipe. On the dam safety side we do a lot of toe drain remediation work on Reclamation embankment dams in the Western U.S, typically installing new pipe and zoned filters, seepage blankets, chimney filters, new inspection wells, and stability berms on embankments. I'm a construction manager, who's also a civil engineer. I'm one part of a highly skilled team that gets to influence the design and implement the construction of an incredible array of projects across the Western U.S.
