About Ryan Revers

While at a young age I have always known I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer. I grew up with a mechanic as a father so I had been exposed to many different hands on skills. I always strive to modify the things I have to make them work better, or to my liking. I have carried these hands-on skills I have acquired into my professional career. I have now been involved in a product development co-op, and product intern position over the past two years. In these positions I have focused heavily on increasing my 3D modeling skills, and am proficient in Autodesk Inventor, and Solidworks. I strive to keep up with the newest modeling techniques as I have recently pick up model based definition designing, also called parametric modeling. The thing I love about engineering is how I can see the whole design cycle work around a product line. To be able to model a new product on the computer, and actually be able to follow it through all the different stages is what motivates me. To be involved in the design is just the tip of the iceberg. Following it through the prototyping, testings, manufacturing, and finally production release really opens ones eyes on how to design for the future.
