About Ryan Riebe
Ever since I was very young, I knew that Mechanical Engineering was my passion. I vividly remember sitting in my father’s manual-transmission Mustang while I was in elementary school, and being fascinated by and wondering how a manual transmission works. Shortly thereafter, it all clicked for me. I have been always curious about how mechanical things work, specifically in the automobile and aerospace fields. Being at EAA Airventure every year of my life (other than 2020) to see vintage warbirds and the most modern jets along with being able to meet some of the most influential astronauts and pilots from around the world has for sure shaped me into who I am today. My very memorable Jesuit High School Experience at Regis Jesuit High School led me to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Loyola Marymount University. There were enough resources at LMU to help me pave my own path, and be able to work on various projects to help further my interest and knowledge in engineering, such as for the SAE Aero Design Competition. Working in that team and others throughout college was an eye-opening experience in so many ways, from leadership to grit-filled problem solving. Even though my in-person college experience was cut short a bit, being home with my family has been a wonderful experience that I have thoroughly missed. I am prepared to leave home now and journey to wherever I need to go to develop my career, solve problems that are put in my way, and further discover my own journey. I am currently working at and enjoying my time as Chief Executive Officer at Rodapa, and am enjoying the vast challenges that is presented at working for a startup. It is something that I never would have thought of doing, but has presented itself with opportunities to grow in ways I never would have perceived before.
