About Ryan Sames

As a recent communication studies graduate at California State University, Long Beach, and a graduate of Fullerton College with an AA in Communication Studies, I have a passion for learning and teaching communication skills. I currently work as an embedded tutor at Fullerton College, where I help students with public speaking, writing, and organization skills, using my time management and peer mentoring abilities. In my role as an embedded tutor, I engage directly with an average of 100+ students a week, providing 1-on-1 and group sessions that improve grades and alleviate performance anxiety. I also manage Excel files to keep track of appointment times, speech types, names of students, and class attendance. Previously, I worked as an after school tutor at A Tree of Knowledge Educational Services, Inc, where I constructed lesson plans for K-6 students via Google Slides, utilizing design principles to create visually appealing lectures that increased student engagement. I also practiced compassion and empathy to cultivate bonds with students that enhanced their self-confidence and positive academic experience. I am motivated by the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with others and to learn from diverse perspectives and experiences. I believe that communication is the key to success in any field and I would love to join a team that values collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
