Dr. Ryan Scilla serves as Director of Medical Dental Education for the Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA), Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA). In this role he oversees more than physician residents, medical students and dental students and residents annually. Dr. Scilla previously served as Director of Quality, Safety and Improvement and Associate Chief of Staff for Education (Designated Education Officer) for the VA Maryland Health Care System. He was elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society by the senior medical students of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In his role as University of Maryland School of Medicine Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine, Dr. Scilla has served as a dedicated and passionate clinical educator and mentor for medical students, residents and associated health professions trainees. Dr. Scilla is board-certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
