Background
About Ryan Scott
Mill Analytics Lead & Continuous Improvement Lead Processing (2019 - Present) •Leading Mill Analytics where we have taken a data-based approach to build a world class Ore Tracking System from the pit block model through the crushers, conveyors, stockpiles and grinding mills. Outputs from the OTS, current plant conditions and historical operating data feed a database where we apply Machine Learning Methodology in order to derive recommended set points for Blending and Flotation operation. •As the Lead for CI processing I work with the Metallurgical and Operations groups to manage their projects ensuring deadlines are met, change management steps are taken and provide ongoing feedback up to management with respect to where we are having success, struggling or in need of support. General Supervisor Mill Operations (2014-2019) •Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, this role directly managed Supervisors and their crews. I was responsible for day to day activities in the concentrator and our group worked closely with the Metallurgical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, and CI groups to maximize safety, production, recovery and grade. •Invested large portions of my time on the floor speaking with those who are operating the plant, coaching and driving change where required to promote a positive work culture and improve performance. Mill Operations Supervisor •Worked as the Shift Supervisor in the Mill Operations group on two different crews, working closely with Operators and maintenance group to maximize throughput/availability of 14 grinding mills, pebble crushers and gyratory crushers. •Each individual and crew task was performed placing safety at the forefront.(Chairing safety meetings, Daily production meetings, Lock-Outs and FLRA's) Metallurgist-Mill Technical Development (2008-11) Worked in several concentrator circuits: •Crushing and Conveying, developed and implemented gyratory crusher CSS gap measurement device to increase choke feeding, fines generation and mill throughput. •Molybdenum Flotation Circuit-Installed a high efficiency trash screen, coordinated circuit shutdowns, further reduced NaHS consumption. •Leach Plant-Debottlenecked the circuit through the installation of a Tubular Drag Conveyor which drastically improved production/air quality. Interlocks were installed to prevent circuit disruptions: Molybdenum scale automatic shut-off, plugged chute alarms and an automated brine fill process. •Sampling- Many projects undertaken to replace high wear steel parts with low wear ceramics to extend their lifespan.
