6 years of experience in the Employment industry as a Career Advisor alongside 19 years of experience in the field of Education have provided me with countless opportunities to build and diversify my skill set to support people in overcoming barriers. I view Career Advising as an educational experience where I empower people by identifying their strengths, gifts, and transferable skills and helping them see that they are so much more than the list of their job titles. I teach the importance of targeting and formatting resumes strategically to optimize their chances of success. Each person’s employment journey is so personal and unique, and I am always excited to meet my next client to learn more about their story and do my best to support them in reaching their career goals. Career planning, resume & cover letter development, providing labour market information, interview preparation, and presenting workshops are just a few of the ways that I support people. I believe HOW I do my work is most important – treating clients with dignity, respect, listening non-judgmentally, and being sensitive to their needs helps to build the trust and relationship that is foundational to working successfully with them.
