About Ryan Shickman

I am an early career psychologist with a PsyD degree, Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, from Alliant International University, Sacramento (July 2022). Currently I am working for the Kaiser Permanente, Vacaville, Adult Outpatient Team, as a postdoctoral psychology resident. I have completed rotations in Trauma Education and the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). During an upcoming training rotation I will gain supervised experience using interpersonal therapy to assist First Responders who have been exposed to trauma. I have a passion for providing mental health services to help clients increase resilience, process difficult emotion, build healthy self-esteem, and cultivate fulfilling connections with others. My clinical interests include working with concerns related to trauma, grief/loss, and depression. From my predoctoral internship training at Tarzana Treatment Centers (TTC) in Los Angeles County I bring experience in addiction medicine and recovery services. TTC provides services to a diverse population with substance use and co-occurring disorders at several levels of care, including an inpatient hospital for detox and psychiatric stabilization, followed by residential rehabilitation. As I move forward in completing my postdoctoral residency and licensure requirements, I am considering positions for Fall 2023 in the Sacramento region.
