About Ryan Singh

How people arrive at a building, and their pattern of movement within it, is such an intriguing thing. The complexities of developing, maintaining, or modernizing a building or precinct to cater for people occupying it, are what brought me into this role. I thoroughly enjoy working with architects, builders, building owners, developers and their design teams to bring to life their ideas and plans. I have been fortunate enough to have worked on many iconic projects both in Australia and around the world. This has been invaluable, not only from a project point of view, but from understanding how diverse client requirements are around the globe, for the same type of development. A successful outcome is where a whole project team (covering design, development and on going facilities maintenance) have all been on the same page for key objectives. In order to achieve this one must be able to effectively communicate with, engage and manage all key stakeholders, in any process. As well as bing the national lead for Vertical Transportation I am part of the executive management team within WSP's Brisbane Building Services Group. In my role, I need to be able to effectively work with the executive team on the client side as well as leading my internal team. With over 15 years working in design, construction, project management, and asset management, I am a valuable member of the WSP Australia & New Zealand group. Being passionate about property, I am also a member of local and global property committees. Within them, I contribute to helping develop new design benchmarks as well as contributing to educational literature for the rest of the industry to utilize. One group I belong to, is the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). As a member of their global Vertical Transportation group, I have just written some Chapters for the upcoming Vertical Transportation Guide book that will be released later in 2018.
