About Ryan Singleton

I am a full stack senior software architect using ASP NET Core for microservices, Azure for serverless.NET 8 for internal NuGet infrastructure, and Angular/TypeScript for web applications. We also do some desktop work with platform add-ons using XAML in WPF. I am well versed in the latter, but I lean on it far less these days. However, I am also a third generation sheet metal worker, specializing in fabrication and detailing. My strengths in these fields come from a love for welding, running coordination meetings and models, and detailing in both AutoCAD and Revit with their respective plugins and addins. My skillset and history looks odd on paper at first. As a young adult, I wanted to get on with my life quickly. My family has a long history in the trades, so I was aware of the options that I had there, and it certainly pays well. But as I grew in the sheet metal trade, it became obvious that I brought the most value when I was writing a script or a plugin that made our fabrication or detailing tools work more efficiently. I played to these strengths and organically found myself in a role that I am passionate about on and off the clock at a software development company with a construction division. I am now working in a role in which I am creating tools, documentation, and utilities for other developers.
