About Ryan Soutter

My education from the University of Texas has afforded me the technical skills and critical thinking that are required for a career in environmental sectors. In addition, my two year leadership role as Board President of College Houses has given me the understanding of large financial institutions and business acumen that I utilize regularly in my work. I began at the University of Texas in August of 2010 where I became interested in environmental science. I enjoyed studying local and regional environmental systems and water quality issues. While attending the university I helped to run, and lived in, a 500+ student owned and operated housing cooperative, College Houses. I embraced the cooperative ideals and became a labor coordinator of my 20 person house, Opsis, in June 2010. I then became the director of that house in 2011 where I was overseeing three officers and sitting on the Board of Directors. In 2012, I was concurrently the Board President for College Houses, which was worth more than 18 million dollars at the time. I was responsible for strategic vision and financial vitality of the organization. I held that position from June 2012 and stepped down in June of 2014 when I graduated with a BS in Environmental Science from the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas. After graduation I began my work with the Banks Group.
