About Ryan Steven Green

My road to becoming a working director and commercial editor began as a film student at USC and has included all aspects of the filmmaking process. As a result I approach filmmaking from an efficient and practical standpoint. Documentary has been a constant presence in my filmmaking and has influenced every form my projects take. One of my great joys in recent years has been teaching documentary filmmaking to high school students at ArtCenter College of Design - a position that has forced me to consider and hone my own filmmaking technique as well as memorialize my own processes in the form of a book on documentary filmmaking. In other words, I've continued my own education in educating others. My goal is to continue to challenge myself creatively, to collaborate with new and interesting people, and to push the boundaries of cinematic storytelling, particularly in the genre of documentary.
