Along the way, I learned that most problems don’t come from bad teams or lack of effort. They come from assumptions, missed handoffs, and information showing up too late.My first real burn was simple. I assumed a light fixture approved in one space was approved everywhere. It wasn’t. I missed a note. Phase two hit, and we were explaining to a client why their lights weren’t LED. Nothing dramatic.just preventable.That lesson stuck: trust, but verify.Today, I split my time between:Owner’s representation at Terva, living inside real projects, real risk, and real consequences.Co-founding Koncurent, building a procurement platform to eliminate the manual, fragmented workflows that quietly cause those burns.Koncurent wasn’t born from a whiteboard. It was built out of frustration. Watching smart teams lose time to fragmented logs, endless submittals, and procurement issues that surfaced too late. We didn’t get into construction to manage spreadsheets.
