About Ryan Sweeney

I am a pathfinder. I locate production process pathways for startup or established manufacturers seeking to bring new concepts to market or to develop new processes for existing products. I am wired to create and enjoy producing results people can use to make their lives better. I like to design and figure out how to make something work. I thrive at the intersection of creativity and logic. More than 20 years ago, when I first stepped foot in China, I didn’t speak the language. I didn’t have any business connections. I didn’t have a path to success… so I blazed one. I learned the language from scratch (and now speak it proficiently). I took opportunities to learn how to do business in Asia, helping companies bring quality products to market through investigating production facilities, inventing new processes where needed, and improving scalability, design and quality control. I opened the first wholly foreign-owned business in Southwest China, a months-long process that required ingenuity and patience. I used my knowledge to help others wanting to do business in China and later other Southeast Asian countries. Whether it's seeking out factories that match the needs of production or building one from the ground up, I have hands-on experience and a desire to take on new adventures. Where others see a complex knot of impossibility to bring products to market, I see paths to strategically take an idea from concept to commercialization.
