Background

About Ryan Terry

In 2012 I made my first trip to the Bakken, so I could pay for college. I never thought I would end up going back after I graduated, but thats exactly what I did. After spending two summers with QEP Resources interning in the High Plains Land Department, I graduated the following December, and In January I was on my way back to Williston to become a Business Development Manager. I had no experience in Business Development, but what I lacked in experience, I made up for in hard work. I spent a year and a half in Williston creating opportunities in oil and gas construction installing helical piles. I covered Eastern Montana, Western Minnesota, Northern Wyoming, and all of North Dakota. In my short time in the Bakken I created business relationships that my former company is still absorbing the benefits from. It was a great learning experience, and I am glad that I took the risk of going up there. Since that time I have managed the sale of every major operator on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. Which includes the assignment of all working interests and overriding royalties and the verification of that ownership through title review of the leases, the assignment of all gathering systems and facilities, and review of all non-compliant rights of way and surface leases. Each sale is unique and requires a different approach. I have conducted due diligence and renewed all of the major gathering systems (800+ rights-of-way), managed a re-surveying project that included close to rights-of-way, and regularly permit new compressor sites, pipeline and road rights-of-way, well pads, APDs, Non-Development Minerals Agreements, Communitization Agreements, and Unit Agreements. I work closely with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Bureau of Land Management. We manage all of the oil and gas activity, from cradle to grave, on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation.
