Bulk materials handling specialist with a wide range of project experience spanning many different roles, industries, project phases, and budgets, with a focus on marine terminals in particular. Roles have included- Terminal project manager responsible for delivering capital projects from several million to $80M, from terminal throughput and capital planning to project planning, board approval, and execution through engineering and construction phases. Also chief technical resource for challenging maintenance problems like major machine failures, difficult repairs, etc- As a consultant, project manager and lead engineer on many small to medium maintenance or upgrade projects for regular clients - Lead discipline engineer (materials handling) on a $240M capex EPCM project through all phases from master planning to commissioning- Technical specialist resource on various projects such as due diligence work, master planning, throughput analysis, feasibility studies, and condition assessments- Key client contact, responsible for managing select client relationships and being a focal point. Industries worked in are often export/import bulk materials terminals, but also include other marine facilities, mine sites, inland or river transshipment facilities, and plant sites. Products handled have included salt, coal and petcoke, sulphur, grains, ores, concentrates, potash, alumina, and others. Key strengths include- Strong leadership skills/traits, willing to make decisions- Long track record of completing projects on budget and with very high quality- Sound technical knowledge and experience, particularly in the bulk materials handling field- Very thorough with a lot of attention to detail - Rising to the occasion
