About Ryan Tomasetti

Thanks for taking the time to read about my work life. I'm a network engineer with about 25 years of experience. I'm currently focused in the Cybersecurity role. Information Technology should always focus on connecting people to the technology they rely on. I succeed in this capacity because I pay attention to detail and truly care about the results and the business mission. This does not come at the cost of technical ability. I am lucky to wake up excited for the day and I love what I do. I'm currently working full time for Scientific Systems where I oversee the implementation of the CMMC Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. We create software that goes into unmanned aerial vehicles. It's a difficult requirement because we have such a mixed environment (Ubuntu, CentOS, Win10 Enterprise, Solaris, etc), do a fair amount of collaboration with universities, and have a general user population that sees security as an obstacle. However, it's a pleasure working with them to find solutions that meet both stringent cybersecurity requirements as well as business objectives. It started out with a 6 month contract, and it worked out, so I was invited on the team! 7 Years later, very proud to serve both company and country in my current role.
