About Ryan Turner

My professional experience spans a wide range of industries, currently within the marine sector, with a background in automation and aviation. I am currently employed as a Marine Systems Technician at Titan Boats in Victoria, BC, where I am a certified ABYC Marine Electrical & Advanced Electrical Technician. My responsibilities include the design, installation and testing of various systems across a range of vessels, from Search and Rescue (SAR) to tourism boats. In 2022, I relocated to Canada to join Ocado Technology, following a year as an Engineer at their London site. During my 18 months with the company, I focused on reactive MHE breakdowns, continuous improvement initiatives, and preventative maintenance for conveyor systems, robotics, PLCs, and the Ocado Smart Platform equipment. Before my time at Ocado, I spent over 10 years as an Electrical System Tester and Team Leader at Leonardo Helicopters, where I held flight clearance authorizations and contributed to the AW101 program, including the Italian CSAR and Norwegian NAWSARH variants. I completed a four-year apprenticeship as an Skilled Electrical Fitter with Leonardo. In my leadership role, I guided a team through the final stages of manufacturing, troubleshooting and repairing flight test faults, and conducting scheduled maintenance on NAWSARH rescue helicopters. I gained extensive experience in testing and maintaining a variety of systems on the AW101, including digital automatic flight controls, fuel, hydraulics, rescue hoists, landing gear, fuel systems, and radios.
