About Ryan Wold

I’m currently a Senior Program Manager on the Surface Customer and Partner Experience team, where I make sure the customer voice directly influences how we build devices, services, and support strategies. I work closely with engineering, marketing, customer support, and other key teams to drive solutions that reduce support costs, anticipate challenges before they reach our customers, and keep customers happy and engaged with our products. I’ve spent 13 years at Microsoft, including 10 years resolving complex global escalations and 3 years working directly with enterprise customers as a consultant. That experience taught me the value of balancing technical depth with clear communication while always keeping the customer perspective at the center. I also love sharing what I’ve learned. I’ve written troubleshooting content for learn.microsoft.com and my own blog, rwold.net, which reaches more than readers each month. Creating resources that help customers self-serve has been especially rewarding because it shows the impact of clear, approachable and easy to understand content. I often experiment with different writing styles, visuals, and video to find new ways of explaining complex technical concepts. My passion for technical products, devices and creative problem solving drives everything I do.
