About Ryan Wong

I transform ideas into reality. As a conventionally trained engineer applying the scientific method, trial and error is the key tenet that describes my unconventional career path. Over the past 10 years, I have dabbled in a variety of roles/industries to uncover the right career direction, which operates within the Venn Diagram of what interests me, what the market wants and what financially allow me to play a few rounds of golf a year. Starting off as an engineer in the oil & gas industry in Calgary, I eventually made my way to the big TO and have ventured into finance, software development and finally project management. All the stops along the way are a culmination of my journey to becoming a better leader - engineering taught me analysis and accuracy, finance taught me about managing stakeholders and communicating ideas and software development provided an understanding of technology on a deeper level so I can ask the right questions. I enjoy taking ideas that started off on the back of a napkin and turning them into real-life products.
