About Ryan Wood

I’m the Director of Community Impact at WFAA, where I focus on connecting our audience with local nonprofits and finding creative ways to make a difference. Whether it’s leading philanthropic campaigns - like our Santa's Helpers toy drive - or building relationships with community organizations, my goal is always the same — help solve problems that matter and bring people together to make an impact. Along the way, I’ve picked up seven EMMY Awards and a National Edward R. Murrow Award. Those are great accolades symbolizing recognition by my peers. While I’m honored by these awards, what drives me even more is the real-world impact we've made. In two years I've collected more than $2.5 million dollars in cash and toy donations serving more than children across DFW. We've cleared waiting lists of students in need of school uniforms. We've collected school supplies. We've built a nearly three-mile nature trail. And we're just getting started. I’m passionate about finding unique solutions to challenges that affect our community, and I love that as broadcasters we have the power - and the platform - to be a force for good.
