About Ryane Schrank

Hello! I am a 28 year old civil engineering student, currently in my Senior year at UAA, who enjoys interacting with people in an engaging work environment and taking any opportunity to be outdoors, particularly during Alaska's beautiful summer months. My labradoodle Sofia would agree and we are fond of keeping each other company during hikes and bike rides throughout town. I am proud to say I completed my B.S. in Geomatics in the spring of 2017. My emphasis in the geomatics program was in GIS and remote sensing but after two summers of experience as a surveying technician, I have discovered I enjoy many aspects of the geomatics discipline. In fact, my dream job would consist of both field and office work since I appreciate the analytical component of producing client deliverables but am also happy to get my hands dirty. Combining my knowledge of geomatics with a degree in civil engineering, I am hoping to pursue a career in Transportation Engineering when I graduate in spring of 2019. I am particularly excited about using technology, such as laser scanning and 3D imaging, to improve the efficiency of work within this field.
