My path in job searching has brought me a lot of insight in various aspects of very different jobs. I have worked as an electrician assistant. This meant going from job site to job site installing wires and other electrical equipment in buildings under construction, which brought me the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks at a time to complete a goal. I have worked as a soccer coach in college for both women's teams and men's teams, which has brought me the management of people and a team with having to make accommodations such as travel arrangements and everything that goes with that. I have worked as a teacher in high school, which has brought me an understanding of working with a team of teachers in the field I taught and an understanding that not everyone understands what you are saying the first time you say something and you may have word things differently so to help understanding. I have also worked as a paralegal/manager in a law office. This has brought an understanding that I have the affinity for all the software management and building of reports and delegating tasks to be efficient. In two separate jobs now, I have been told that I was great at the technology side of things and they recommend that a job in software management or something similar would be where they see my strengths. I have to say that I agree that that is one strength that I have, but I often felt overlooked for all of the other things that I was able to accomplish. For me it is all about the little things in a job that make the bigger tasks more bearable and easier. However, in many of my jobs, they have overlooked the small things that I do and put in place that make everything run smoothly. I have always been tasked with tedious tasks that would take others double the amount of time, or longer, than it takes me to complete it. Most recently, a few tasks that I was given was to catch up the 300+ medical bills and make sure they were all inserted into their proper locations, which I did in less than two weeks along with just starting at the job and a constant stream of new bills coming in to add to the list. I then had to move all the information from one excel sheet to another in over 250 cases along with other tasks that I had to do in between and completed that transfer in another two weeks time. And lastly I was tasked with the management of catching up all requests that were sent out to receive records and bills and, with the help of my team, we started with about 75% being older than 2 months and brought that to only about 20% older than 2 months.
