About Ryo Iwamoto

Born in 1997, graduated from Waseda University with a degree in Political Science and Economics. From a young age, gained experience in the Urasenke school of tea ceremony, and currently holds the tea name bestowed by Urasenke, also active as Associate Professor Ryō Iwamoto. Founded TeaRoom Inc. at the age of 21. To address sustainable production systems and structural issues in the tea industry, took over a Japanese tea factory in Shizuoka Prefecture and established THE CRAFT FARM Inc, an Agricultural Production Corporation. To transform the declining industry, they manage the entire process from tea production to sales using a vertically integrated model. They focus on circular economy-based production, the development and sale of luxury goods based on Japanese tea manufacturing methods, and the production of tea ceremony-related businesses, creating new demand for tea domestically and internationally. In addition to being selected for the "Forbes JAPAN 30 UNDER 30 2022," which lists 30 individuals under the age of 30 who are impacting the world, he was also selected for the "Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023," and is a member of the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum.
