About Saad Umar Farooqui

A Chartered Accountant (Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales) and ACCA (Member of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, UK) with over eight years of experience encompassing financial reporting, financial analysis, internal, and external audit with challenging top tier organisations comprising of Big 4 and listed MNCs. Currently working as Corporate Audit Officer in Engro Corporation Limited, one of the biggest conglomerate in Pakistan. As part of the ONESAP project, one of the biggest business process re-engineering and SAP implementation project, my responsibilities include assessment of internal controls of business processes during the entire implementation. Before being part of ONESAP team, I was responsible for conducting internal audits for various departments, with Finance and Accounting being the major one. Previously as the Finance Manager at GroupM Pakistan, my role included managing a team and directly reporting to the Regional Finance Team in Hong Kong. My core responsibilities included preparations and analysis of Financial Statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards. My experience with EY for more than 3 years consisted of providing audit services as an Audit Senior to various organizations including financial and non-financial sector. This experience was further enhanced when I was temporarily seconded to EY Jeddah, which allowed me to gain invaluable international exposure. I am a hard-working, goal-oriented person with excellent interpersonal skills. Currently I’m looking for new opportunities to further escalate my career and broaden my professional horizons.
