About Sabeeka Jaffer

As the Hospital Support Program Coordinator and Service Navigator at SMILE Canada, I work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and community resources to ensure that children and youth with disabilities receive the care and support they need. My role involves coordinating hospital support programs, navigating complex healthcare systems, and advocating for accessible and inclusive services. I am dedicated to empowering families by providing guidance, resources, and compassionate support, helping them navigate their healthcare journey with confidence. I also work part time as an instructor at CJ Healthcare College where I teach undergrad students introduction to Child And Youth Care. I assist and support the new cohorts within the CYC program to get ready for practice within the field. By providing case scenarios, practical skills and opportunities to enhance the emotional, intellectual, and cultural growth & development of students, I support their success through their first experiences in hands-on practise. I also work as a Research Assistant at The International and Canadian Children’s Rights Partnership where I work with teams globally to improve children’s rights within policy, practice and procedure. I have experience in multiple child-based settings such as after-school programs, community workshops, daily programming and support groups as well as facilitating a series of events. I look forward to completing internships in a more diverse group setting for children through Toronto Metropolitan University’s supportive program.
