About Sabine Henrie

Two days after graduating from high school I was invited to join the care team for a previously homeless man dying of stomach cancer. That profound experience of attending to his physical, emotional, and spiritual needs set me on a now decades long path of seeking out work that allows me to be of service to families and individuals at the most tender and challenging points of their lives: birth, illness, aging and death. Over the years my perspectives and skills have been shaped both by ongoing training and education and by the insights and example of the patients, clients and students I've had the honor of working alongside. They have taught me: • Clear, concise communication skills and an empathetic ear • The ability to anticipate needs while remaining open to the possibility of surprise • The value of patience, quiet and compassion to create spaces for vulnerability • Attention to delight and beauty in all settings • And, most important of all, a sense of humor Going forward I am looking for positions in the Albuquerque area that will allow me to put my talents and training to use each day.
