About Sabrina Hasselfelt

Growing up camping in Algonquin Park, I gained a curiosity of the natural world and a passion for the conservation of our green spaces. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Trent University in Peterborough, I became familiar with the region and pursued a career in ecology and ecosystem restoration. A lot of my work has focused on working with turtles starting as a volunteer at a reptile zoo in high school and then professionally as a Research Assistant for the Latin American Sea Turtle Association in Costa Rica and as the Turtle Road Ecology Lead at The Land Between Charity in Haliburton. I then worked with the Nature Conservancy of Canada as a Conservation Technician where I assisted in managing and maintaining acres of land across Hastings County. Currently, I am working with Northumberland Land Trust as the Stewardship and Operations Coordinator where I am responsible for cultivating donor relationships, seeking grant opportunities, and leading land stewardship and acquisition efforts. My passion for effective natural resource management in Ontario has encouraged me to obtain exposure in community engagement, technical roles, and project coordination over the past 5+ years.
