About Sabrina Trimble

Like almost all geographers, I basically stumbled into geography as a field of study. I have always had an interest in a variety of sciences, from physical and social to biological, as well as some fine arts such as music. Thus, I struggled to find the right major at school. Bouncing through a couple of disciplines, I eventually discovered Geography and Geospatial Science at my university. I took a few classes in the major and fell in love. It was everything I wanted and more. Now I have graduated as of December 2023, and am more than ready to get a career started. I am extremely excited to apply and use the skills I've acquired over the years. I love learning, solving problems, asking and answering questions, educating others, and challenging myself and my skills. This motivates me to apply myself towards issues, using the skills and perspectives I've learned in university and life at large to guide what I do. Throughout my education and internships I have gained a variety of skills. I learned to use a variety of software, such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, MicroStation, and Google Earth Engine, and even picked up the basics of JavaScript and HTML. I also learned many skills and perspectives, such as land use planning, satellite imaging analysis, cartography, geographic field research, and much, much more. These play into my academic interests. Some of which, aside from geography itself, are human-environment geography, hazards and disasters, ecogeography, geomorphology, GIS, land use planning, human geography, and cultural studies. When I'm not working or spending time with loved ones, you can probably find me at home playing video games, tending to my animals and plants, at the gym, or out hiking and camping.
