Hi, I’m Sachin Vyas — currently working as an SDE-3 (Senior Software Engineer) at Cisco, where I build and scale large, distributed systems for the Meraki Dashboard – Switching product. Over the years, I’ve specialized in designing backend-heavy platforms that power real-world infrastructure, working across both consumer-facing and enterprise-grade applications. I believe great engineering lies in striking the right balance between scalability, simplicity, and maintainability. At Cisco, I contribute across the stack: • Frontend: ReactJS, TypeScript • Backend: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Scala I build and manage critical UI features and backend flows for Meraki’s cloud-managed switching interface. I also work on configuration systems using YangChain and internal tooling to push network-level configs directly to physical switch devices — bridging UI, backend logic, and firmware-level execution. What I do well: • Designing real-world system architectures (LLD & HLD) for scale • Building secure, resilient microservices and backend flows • Managing Kafka pipelines and event-driven infra • Writing clean APIs and improving observability across services • Leading feature lifecycle: From idea → design → delivery → optimization • Debugging issues that only appear in production (aka real battle-tested learning) What I write and speak about: Outside of work, I share technical deep-dives on: • System Design — realistic, production-ready architecture breakdowns • Backend Engineering — service orchestration, infra, code-level thinking • AI + Backend — how Generative AI can be embedded into microservices and workflows, how agent-based architectures change backend development, and what “AI-first” infra design looks like I’m especially interested in how LLMs + distributed systems interact — from retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to AI-powered agents driving real-time infra decisions.
