About Sadaf Dastan

Sadaf Dastan is a M.A. graduate of The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, where she was a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellow at the Institute for Middle East Studies and a Frédéric Bastiat fellow at the Mercatus Center. Her graduate capstone was about Iranian grand strategy and the future of Iranian influence in a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. She has presented her research at the International Studies Association and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently works for the U.S. Government Accountability Office as an analyst on their Homeland Security and Justice team, previously having completed rotations on their Defense Capabilities and Management and Contracting and National Security Acquisitions team. Ms. Dastan is fluent in Farsi and passionate about further language study and public service, as well as topics related to national security, the Middle East, and U.S. domestic and foreign policy.
