Background
About Sadia Afrin
My academic experience on such a versatile subject (International Relations) has shaped my investigating and critical thinking to superior standard. I believe that these skills will be of immediate value to the role. Following my completion of studies, I had assumed the role of a Reporter in New Age (Daily English Newspaper). My responsibilities included collecting news materials on various national issues through meticulous investigation and interviewing people in a range of different circumstances, producing concise and accurate articles in keeping with New Age’s format and within strict deadlines, attending a variety of events and press conferences, scrutinizing and assessing information in order to paint a precise and unbiased picture of facts. Following my tenure as a journalist I joined ‘Stichting Bangladesh Accord Foundation’ (‘hereafter referred to as Accord’) in December, 2016 as a Safety and Health Trainer and Auditor. My responsibilities include conducting training and supporting joint labour-management safety committees at ready-made garment factories, building these committees and making them effective in addressing and monitoring health and safety issues on a day to day basis, conducting training to all employees working at factories to aware them about common safety hazards and safely evacuate the factory in case of fire or other emergencies, also conducting factory inspection to identify safety hazards and responding to employee complaints and suggestions. Accord was rebranded as ‘RMG Sustainability Council’ (‘hereafter referred to as RSC’) in June 2020. Despite this, my role remained identical to my previous role. So, I am currently working with RSC. I anticipate that my role will be extremely challenging and demanding in nature. However, I feel certain that my strong communication skills coupled with ability to comprehend and critically analyse a particular issue at hand along with superior professionalism would be of immediate value to any company. I am confident that if endowed with such opportunity, I will prove myself to be an important asset through my dedication, sincerity and highest level of professionalism.
