About Saeed Sepasy

I am a mechanical engineer and a senior manager with over 20 years of experience working in R&D, process optimization, and manufacturing. Currently, I work at Mipox as the head of R&D department. Previously, I was in the Nikon as an executive researcher in the business development and medical devices departments, where I developed new products by using advanced mechanical simulations and statistical analysis tools. Before that I was the chief researcher for a project at Japan Science and Technology Agency, where I designed and developed a special type of nozzle for blasting micro particles of hydroxyapatite powder on the surface of human teeth. I also have experience as an assistant professor in the mechanical engineering department at Tehran University and as the founder and managing partner of my own company that provided precision measurement instruments. My passion for precision engineering led me to pursue a PhD in mechanical engineering from Tohoku University. I am naturally curious, and I excel in situations where I have a problem to solve or any type of professional challenge. I strive to foresee problems that may arise and proactively solve them before others have recognized that a problem exists. I hold patents for many of my ideas, and I relish the opportunity to push the boundaries of existing technologies. My diverse background has exposed me to many different aspects of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, including product development, engineering software, project management, and advancing ideas to patents. In addition, I have been able to flex my professional muscles into other areas such as teaching, public relations, and finance. When I am not working, you’ll probably find me swimming, reading books, watching movies, going outdoors or writing some macros in Excel.
