About Safa Alqudah

My name is Dr. Safa Alqudah. I graduated from the University of Kansas in the U.S. as a Ph.D. holder in Audiology in 2016 and have been working as an Associate Professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology since 2016. I also serve as a leader for the “Hear the World” project, a volunteer project funded by the international foundation “Hear the World.” The project aims to achieve better access to audiological services for newborns and children in Jordan, higher awareness within the Jordan population about language and hearing problems, and improved access to advanced/scientific education in Audiology. My doctoral dissertation focused on the role of the MSRA gene in protecting the inner ear from oxidative stress conditions such as aging and excessive noise exposure using the animal model, more precisely, the mice. I have a research background in studies using animal and human models. I have contributed to various speech and audiology topics, including using emotions to treat articulation and fluency disorders, developing a language rehabilitation software application, genetics, noise exposure, vestibular disorders, hearing screening, hearing aids, cochlear implants, and central auditory processing.
