About Sage Thomas

I work as a youth substance use clinician / outreach nurse and I have a private practice, Wildwood Holistic Nurse Coaching and Consulting. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at UBC Okanagan, researching what can be learned from rural nurses about child and youth mental health and substance use (MHSU) care. My clinical experiences range from community health, working with First Nation communities, to intensive case management with adults and youth, focusing on MHSU care. I have lived and worked in urban and rural communities from Manitoba to BC, and I'm passionate about access to care, harm reduction, and care that is grounded in relationship with the land and communities it is embedded within. How can we create new (and transform old) systems of care in equitable, kinder ways, where everyone - including care providers - is supported in the process?
