Sagun/सगुन (pronounced Sha-goon) has served as the Diversity Outreach Specialist for projects such as STEMM-Up, Empower and Employ (EMP2), and Insight at Michigan State University and University of Michigan. Her work is informed by her experiences working for and with diverse communities, primarily supporting and advocating for individuals at the intersections of oppression and marginalization. Sagun has primarily worked with marginalized college students, families impacted by substance use, incarcerated youth and adults, individuals with disabilities, and survivors of relationship and sexual violence. Sagun's research interests include understanding the historical, socio-political, and intergenerational determinants of well-being to better contextualize and respond to contemporary social inequities. Sagun is a queer social justice facilitator and community-based activist from Nepal who is excited to continue working on equitable research and clinical social work practices.
