About Saibal Roy

I’m Saibal Roy, an Engineering Manager with 13+ years of experience across full stack engineering, cloud architecture, and DevOps.I joined Techno Exponent in 2015 as a founding engineer. Over time, I grew into leading multiple web application teams and building systems that are scalable, reliable, and built to last.One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been building the DevOps and SRE practice from the ground up. I started hands-on, setting up infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud architecture standards, and gradually scaled it into a dependable and mature engineering function by 2022.Since 2024, I’ve also been mentoring final-year and graduating engineers through India Council, helping them bridge the gap between academics and real-world engineering.Some work I’m proud of- ZLS.app, a U.S-based LegalTech platform: I led the platform from inception. Designed the AWS architecture, migrated a Java Spring Boot monolith into 5+ microservices running on ECS, implemented multi-database tenancy using Redgate, and built a RAG-based microservice to enhance AI-powered legal document search. I also architected ECS cluster capacity providers for seamless scaling and ensured secure private connectivity to RDS across dev, staging, and production environments- Claims Service International: Led the migration from a legacy PHP system to a modern Node.js and Angular stack on AWS. Successfully moved a 30GB on-prem MySQL database to RDS using DMS with zero data loss and introduced CI/CD pipelines that significantly improved deployment speed and reliability- Material Management BP-ERP: Early in my career, I independently gathered requirements and built a complete ERP system using VB.NET and MySQL. The costing module I designed helped optimize purchase decisions and improved vendor negotiation outcomes.An important lesson I learned while working onsite at a steel fabrication plant still guides me today: solve problems for people, not just systems. Keep things simple. Ship fast. Improve continuously.In October 2025, I was appointed to the Internal Compliance Committee, where I help address employee concerns and support a safe, transparent, and respectful work environment.I believe in intent-based leadership that is practical, transparent, and empathetic.
