About Saira Prasanth

I am a Master of Public Health student at Yale School of Public Health in the Chronic Disease Epidemiology department who is passionate about applying data to population-level disease prevention and addressing social drivers of health. In my current role as a Yale Center on Climate Change and Health Fellow, I support and conduct research at the intersection of climate change and health justice. I plan to apply my research experience and passion for structural solutions as an aspiring doctoral researcher in environmental epidemiology, with a focus on investigating how land use and urban planning interventions shape chronic disease outcomes, particularly in the context of climate change adaptation. In this way, I plan to research, implement, and advocate for policy interventions that address root causes of health injustice and social drivers of chronic conditions. I am a goal-driven, creative, and adaptable team player with a growth mindset, which I apply to all areas of my life, and I am always seeking out new experiences and new challenges.
